Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves multiple members of a nuclear or extended family. This form of therapy can assist families in improving communication, solving problems, and understanding and managing family events such as deaths, moves, divorce, illness, or the entry of new members (such as stepparents) into a family. Family therapy can be particularly useful for ameliorating emotional or behavioral difficulties in children or adolescents.
Couples Therapy is a therapy that aims to strengthen a relationship between two people in an intimate relationship. These people may be married, unmarried, gay, or straight. This therapy can be particularly helpful for couples who have sexual or communication difficulties. Couples therapy can also result in more effective management of household issues such as money management, and improve a couples’ effectiveness as a parental unit.
Individual Therapy is a form of treatment wherein a client works with a therapist on an individual basis. When the client is a child, individual treatment nearly always involves play and artwork. Individual therapy aims to alleviate internal distress, improve relationships, and raise a client’s functioning at work, school, and other endeavors. Therapists use various techniques and approaches depending on their therapeutic orientation
Group Therapy is a psychotherapy in which a small, carefully selected group of individuals meet to assist each other in emotional growth, personal problem-solving, social skill development, and relationship enhancement. When clients are children, play is almost always a part of the treatment. Group therapy can be particularly helpful in helping clients feel understood, accepted, and connected to others.
Referral and Advocacy is a service which involves finding and coordinating care and accessing resources and benefits. This service can be particularly helpful for clients who have multiple needs as well as limited resources, including those with developmental delay and disability.
Psycho-educational Testing generate evaluations and treatment recommendations for clients with learning, developmental, and emotional concerns
Parental Consultations ; help parents manage their children’s behavior and help them to maximize their children’s social, emotional, and academic development. A service where parents come to therapists who serve as coaches and advisers to help them manage their children’s behavior, and optimize their children’s social, emotional, and academic development.
